Counselor In Training Program (CIT)

Our Counselors In Training Program is made up of young people from 14 to 16 years of age. We may accept younger teenagers according to their maturity and skills.

Prerequisites: minimum of 80h in selected language.

They have a special status: they learn as Campers a language at their age and level group as anyone. But they also help out as Counselors for activities.

This program is designed to introduce a counseling summer experience. Members attend their language class, and help the instructors supervise the various groups until the end of the day. They are assigned a supervisor and are required to attend meetings when necessary. The CIT program runs from 9:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.

Lunch and transportation are not provided by Peekaboo.

CIT placement is limited. We interview and select CITs upon their abilities and motivation to take responsibilities in interacting with younger campers.

Fluent speakers can be Counselors/Instructors and pay no tuition. They come on a volunteer basis. Other CITs benefit from the CIT special rate.
